MANGA LIBRARY

Free manga for all, brought to you by Carolina Manga Library!

MANGA AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE!

Carolina Manga Library is BACK with their massive collection of well-known and obscure manga, graphic novels, and more!

The Carolina Manga Library is a non-profit organization that sets up free libraries at conventions for all attendees to enjoy. They bring over 5000 manga, American graphic novels, webcomics, and novels for fans to enjoy. By setting up a quiet place for people to relax at conventions, the Library seeks to promote literacy through the medium that they love.

The Library was founded in 2013, debuting at Nashicon in Columbia, South Carolina. Since then, the Library has been guests at conventions all over the eastern United States and their collection becomes larger with every passing month, having expanded to all forms of graphic novels. Their expert staff of librarians and library assistants are also experts in all things manga and graphic novels, so feel free to ask them for recommendations for new series!

Take a break, read some manga, and explore your imagination!

METROCON is excited to have the Carolina Manga Library at the convention again this year! The Manga Library will be located in rooms 111 – 113. The room will also double as a relaxing space for those seeking to reduce auditory or visual stimulation and take a deep breath – a highly demanded feature at many conventions in recent years that we’re excited to bring to METROCON. Be sure to check them out at the con this year!

The Carolina Manga Library’s mission is to improve literacy and access to literature one graphic novel at a time – their traveling library might be well known from anime conventions, but they do incredible work to bring manga and graphic novels to remote, underserved, or at-risk populations to ensure that folks have access to whatever might spark their interest!
